Thomas Tan is a 1989 graduate of the University of Washington with a BA degree in Material Sciences Engineering. Prior to establishing GFT Thomas worked as a research engineer and assisted a large American company in setting up a subsidiary in China. In 1992 Thomas formed GFT as a sub-assembly manufacturer and expanded to a full service manufacturer 1998.

Scott Heimberger is a 1988 graduate of the University of Washington with a BA degree in International Studies and a 1997 MBA graduate of Seattle University. Prior to coming to work for GFT Scott had worked in China as a manufacturers agent and had most recently worked as an analyst for one of the largest port management companies in the world.
